Historic sites in Sri Lanka

National Parks
Yala National Park-situated on the southeast coast and the total area of the park is more than 126 thousand hectares. Bundala National Park-southeast of the coast, east of Hambantota. Sinharaja Rainforest-Forest reserve Sinharádža (or Lion King) extends to the south of the country on an area of more than 19 thousand hectares. It is the last large undistorted area of the rainforest in Sri Lanka listed in the UNESCO Cultural and Natural Heritage List in 1988. The highest peak of the Hinipitigala forest measures 1171 m. Several rivers flow through the reserve. The crowns of trees reach 45 meters. Many species of plants, animals, reptiles and birds living here are endemic to Sri Lanka.

Beach
