Visas to Sri Lanka

It is necessary to have a visa in Sri Lanka, but it is not difficult to deal with it. It can be managed online here: https://eta.gov.lk/etaslvisa/etaNavServ

The visa costs 35 USD for 1 person for 30 days, the visa will be paid by the card at the end of the process, confirming your return (max. 30 minutes). A visa can also be issued upon arrival at the airport in Colombo, where you will pay 40 USD. An extension of the visa for 90 days can be done at the embassy in Colombo, with which we will be happy to help. For citizens of the Czech Republic this extension is FREE of CHARGE! A surcharge of RS 10 000 is charged for the next 3 months. So legally you can stay max in Sri Lanka. Half a year.

The passport must be valid for at least 6 months on the day of arrival in Sri Lanka.

The Immigration Landing Card must be completed upon arrival.

CURRENTLY, VISAS FOR CITIZENS OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC ARE FREE, UP TO 1.2.2020!!!
The visa form must be completed, but no payment will be made.

 

 

Vaccination in Sri Lanka
There is no need for a spectral vaccination in Sri Lanka, it is advisable to have jaundice A, B, Brerrus and tetanus. 

 

 

Making calls in Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka, the call is very cheap. Of the 5 communication service providers, we recommend the operator Dialog. The Sim card itself costs around 200,-RS (up to 40.0-CZK). The call to the local number costs around 2,-RS/minute, calls to the Czech Republic 60,-RS/minute, SMS to local number 0.12,-LKR and SMS to Czech number 6.0-RS. Operators also offer packages with data tariffs.

 

Transport from/to the airport

If you do not want to solve how to get to us or to another hotel by train, bus, etc. Use our driver. He will personally pick you up in the arrivals hall of the airport and bring you incl. Baggage to its destination.


To use the transfer, we will need the exact date and time of arrival and your flight number.
Price of transport from/to the airport:
Passenger car (max. 2 persons): 60 EUR
Van (max. 6 persons): 90 EUR
For more people, ask a question – we will arrange it indivally, according to your request.
Price includes car with driver, highway toll, fuel, parking at the airport.

Medical kit/What to remember

The basic medications you need in the Czech Republic, a sunscreen with a high factor – we recommend a protective factor 50, insect repellent – can be also available locally – we will gladly arrange it for you.

If you are travelling to the mountains, we recommend that you add warmer, better-functioning clothes (temperatures up to about 10 °C). You won’t need it anywhere else on the island.

If you are going to drive on the island, take the international driver’s license. 

 

Food

The kitchen smells all the colors and mixes in it perhaps all the possible spices of the world. The kitchen is not just colorful and fragrant, but also very hot. The basic food of the local is rice with curry, which means rice, curry sauce and a piece of meat (chicken or fish), you get to it need sambol (sauce, most often coconut – pol Sambol). Food is often served in several small masters and combines different dishes. Other dishes you can taste here are mallung, grated vegetables roasted with spices and shredded coconut, or appa (Angl. Hopper), a pastry made of coconut milk and palm wine, fried and stuffed with various ingredients (yogurt, honey). Often, the appy is topped with curry. Indiappa (Angl. Strings hopper) are the glass noodles that eat curry instead of rice, surprisingly for breakfast. A mixture of flour or rice and coconut, which is cooked in a bamboo jar is a pitta, rice baked in a banana leaf, with chicken or egg, is served with vegetables and is called Lamprais. The dresses are soft bread pancakes, stuffed with meat and vegetables or also chopped can fry with meat and vegetables, in which case they are called Kotthu Rótí and it is really excellent. Burianije rice with raisins and chicken, curry and boiled egg, vadai are seasoned bags. The excellent tropical fruit is definitely worth a taste, and you will surely see species that you have not yet known to exist. From pineapple, mango, coconut and exquisite sweet bananas to the largest fruits in the world-breadfruit, green cone with Thistle called durian, to Rambutane, mangosteen, guava or Graviola. Anywhere you can buy so-called. Royal Coconut, Orange Coconut, which the salesman cuts through the machete, puts a straw and you can enjoy the refreshing juice. From the desserts we will mention curd – a buffalos ‘ yoghurt from buffalo milk, which is soup of the palate syrup, wattalappam – egg pudding from Malaysia, kiribath – boiled rice porridge.
